Routine radiology for chest, bones

Our facility offers a full range of x-ray services which are provided by specially trained staff to ensure maximum safety.  The most common type of x-ray examination is a chest x-ray.  A chest x-ray is usually performed for an evaluation of the lungs, heart and chest wall.  The procedure is painless and usually takes 15-20 minutes; Patients will be provided a loose fitting gown and asked to remove all metallic jewelry.  Usually you will stand for a few seconds with your chest pressed against a photographic plate; You will be asked to hold your breath while the x-ray is being administered.  The x-ray film is developed by the x-ray tecnologist and the results are provided to your surgeon. Your original x-rays will be kept on file at Pinehurst Surgical.  You will receive a separate bill from the radiologist for the interpretation of this x-ray.
