Electrocardiograms (EKGs)

An EKG is a simple, quick and safe test which is used to check the electrical activity of the heart. A certified technician will perform the test which takes about 10 minutes. The EKG procedure requires you to undress from the waist up, put on a paper gown and lie down on your back.  The technician will attach small electrodes to the arms, legs and chest and then ask you to relax. A record of the electrical activity is then obtained.  This record is called an electrocardiogram or EKG for short.  This test is helpful in showing that your heart rhythm is normal. Please note you will receive a separate bill from Pinehurst Medical Clinic for the interpretation of the EKG report.
