Convenience . . .

Our physicians and staff recognize your time is important and we want to provide you with convenient, easy access to the appropriate test(s) which are necessary prior to undergoing surgery.  In addition to our imaging services, we offer a full service laboratory under the direction of a Medical Laboratory Director which provides patients with on-site testing.  Laboratory testing is performed by certified technicians and the quality of our testing is regulated by the certified CLIA Program, a division of NC State Health and Human Resources.  Test results are sent to the ordering physician and forwarded to the hospital for pre-operative purposes.  Our lab has the capability to perform in-house testing which includes Hematology, Immunology, Urinalysis, Microbiology and Blood Chemistries. 

Easy Access. . .

Pre-Registration, Nursing Assessment and Pre-Anesthesia

FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital provides pre-registration, nursing assessments and pre-anesthesia evaluations within our Pinehurst Surgical facility so you can complete your pre-admission process.  This service is for all Pinehurst Surgical patients who are undergoing elective surgery at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

Helpful Information for Your Preadmission Interview with FirstHealth nurses:

• Please bring all medications you currently take.  Include all prescription medicines and over-the-counter medicines, as well as herbal and homeopathic preparations.  (Please make a list if it is easier.  Remember to include exact name, strength, how many you take each time and when you take them.)
• To help us provide optimal care, we will ask about current medical problems, past surgeries, past problems and any serious medical conditions in your family.
• You may eat or drink normally the day of your pre-op appointment unless your doctor tells you otherwise.
• We will take you through the pre-admissions process as quickly and safely as possible, but please understand that it could take as long as an hour, or possible longer.
