Meet Jackie, Certified Medical Assistant

Orthopaedic and Joint Replacement Center, Pinehurst Surgical

I decided to get into nursing when my son was born premature. I was at the hospital taking care of him every day and learning the routines. The nurses at the hospital taught me what to do to care for him; they said I was a natural and they encouraged me to become a nurse. When I moved from Georgia to North Carolina, I remember hearing that Pinehurst Surgical was a good place to work. What really impressed me when I started working here was that so many people had stayed with the clinic for so long.

Now that I am employed with Pinehurst Surgical, I just love my team! I work ten hour days, four days a week with Dr. Brenner in the Orthopaedic and Joint Replacement Center. Dr. Brenner is the busiest physician at Pinehurst Surgical and his patients really seem to love him. They tend to have several appointments with him, so I get to know the patients personally. They are so appreciative that sometimes they even bring food and flowers! Everyone in my department has a good attitude and I feel like I really fit in. My supervisor is really sweet, so that helps. One day, I would like to be a physician’s assistant or a nurse practitioner; I am looking into taking classes on line. I look forward to coming to work. I enjoy what I do and I am so thankful to be here.
