Pinehurst, North Carolina – April 9, 2020 – Pinehurst Surgical Clinic (PSC) announced additional measures, programs, and policies today to continue to support the community and ensure the health and well-being of its population in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. These include opening up their doors to serve urgent care and after hour needs, extending their normal operating hours, offering Telemedicine appointments, and implementing additional safety and sanitation measures.
PSC encourages and urges anyone with any non-life threatening healthcare needs or conditions to come to PSC for treatment. With multiple procedure rooms, PSC is equipped and has specialists to attend to most cases; they welcome same-day appointments, however, they do instruct the public to call before coming in to ensure they can be seen rapidly and to prevent a backlog in the waiting areas.
“As part of the critical care infrastructure, PSC is one of the cornerstones of our healthcare system and we will remain open to serve the needs of our patients and support the hospital with all surgical and non-surgical specialty care,” said Charles Gregg, CEO. “Our success ultimately comes down to a culture of teamwork, physician leadership, and the tireless efforts of our administrative team. Please rest assured that PSC is working around the clock to be there for you and will support you through this temporary threat to our community.”
Additionally, PSC has also extended the Orthopaedic After Hours clinic to better accommodate patients. These hours are now as follows: Monday – Friday, 5PM – 7PM; Saturday, 9AM – 11AM; and Sunday, 1PM – 3PM. There is no appointment needed.
For those who prefer and feel safer staying at home, but do not want to miss crucial appointments, PSC providers are now providing and scheduling Telemedicine appointments. Those requesting Telemedicine appointments can call the clinic at 910.295.6831 to discuss options and times to meet their needs.
While PSC is not testing for COVID-19 cases, anyone with questions may call to speak to a provider who will, in turn, direct them to the appropriate resource. It is imperative to ensure all potential or confirmed COVID-19 patients are directed to the appropriate place. PSC has also implemented new safety precautions and screenings to ensure the safety of the patients that do come to the clinic for all non-COVID-19 related conditions.
“When we reflect on our founders and what they did to preserve the foundation of the independent practice of medicine and surgery, we owe it to them and our patients to continue to deliver the best care possible without compromising safety,” Gregg added. “Furthermore, by leveraging telemedicine and technology, not only will we take care of our existing patients, we just expanded our reach of care to rural, unserved areas.”
The new patient protection policies are as follows: No visitors other than the patient (with few exceptions), screening all who enter the clinic, and adhering to social distancing measures within our waiting areas, in addition to performing hourly cleaning and sterilizing in all clinic areas. All patient screening questions can be found on the Pinehurst Surgical Clinic Website here: http://www.pinehurstsurgical.com/pinehurst-surgical-clinic-visitors-restriction-notice/ (Exceptions: patients who require assistance and those with minor children).
“PSC has weathered some of the most difficult times our country has seen over the past 75 years and with the advancement of technology, FirstHealth, our local legislators, and First Citizens Bank we are positioned to overcome this pandemic and thrive for another 75 years,” Gregg said.
During this challenging time the community and the world is facing, Pinehurst Surgical Clinic is ready and available to take care of all patients’ needs safely and effectively.
