Dr. Szabo is one of my favorites! It was after 5pm when I finally got to see him and he didn't seemed rushed at all. He took his time to explain everything and made sure that I didn't have any concerns.

Although I agreed to let the trainee in with my doctor, I didn't realize she was going to actually do part of my exam. She was friendly but I would have preferred my doctor give me my complete exam.

Dr. Szabo got straight to the point and was very knowledgeable about our situation. He gave us possible causes and solutions and assured us that everything would be okay. He is extremely professional, yet allows us to feel very comfortable in the office.

When providing genetic testing results that com back positive for a Trisomy, I feel it's important to discuss the results over the phone, then have the patient come into the clinic to discuss all options, discuss testing results and nuances, and have all questions answered. referral to Duke should be physician to physician, especially if a patient is requesting a CVS rather than amniocentesis, due to time sensitivity. These are very emotional results that should be discussed formally. I was not asked to come in, but I instead repeatedly requested more information. When an appointment was made, Dr. Szabo was excellent. He explained results in full, potential risks of diagnostic procedures, time frame and logistics of getting to Duke, and was very patient with my questions. And this was my first time meeting him. Please have patients come in face-to-face for discussion of results of genetic testing.
